Michael Turvey (Conductor)
Michael started his musical career as a boy chorister at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, studying piano, organ, and O & A level music. He later graduated from the London College of Music having gained the Associateship of the Royal College of Organists. He is presently Director of Music at Pinner Parish Church, as he has been since 1963. In 2005, Michael was awarded an MBE for services to music and the community of Pinner and a London Borough of Harrow 50th Anniversary Award for generous and unstinting public service. In May 2008, he was also made a Honorary Member of the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM).
Andrew West (Organist/Pianist)
Andrew studied at the Colchester Institute and Kutztown University, Pennsylvania, USA, graduating with honours degree in Liturgical Music. For four years, he was organist and choirmaster of Colchester Parish Church; he is presently Assistant Director of Music at Pinner Parish Church. As a solo organist and accompanist Andrew has the opportunity to play in numerous churches and cathedrals throughout the UK and Europe. www.andrewwest.net
Hilary Holloway (Violinist)
Hilary studied at the Royal Academy of Music and has taught the violin and viola ever since, both in schools and at home. She now teaches and runs a string orchestra for adults, many of whom have started playing in later life. Hilary also leads the Hillingdon Philharmonic, PHEOS and Pinner Music Festival orchestras.
Stephen Brown (Violist)
After first training as a music teacher, Stephen studied violin on a postgraduate course at the Royal Academy of Music. He then played as a freelance violinist with the London Festival Balllet and other ensembles. He currently teaches in local schools as well as coaching violin and viola pupils in the youth orchestra.
Nick Ashton (Recording Engineer)
Nick normally spends his time mixing studio sound for television, and has worked for Independent Television News for over 20 years. He has also acted as recording engineer for a number of CD projects at Pinner Parish Church, and on choir tours is often to be seen crouching in the corner of the cathedral with headphones and recording equipment!
Paul Carter (Photographer)
Paul divides his time between running a web design agency and working as a freelance photographer. Specialising in sport and editorial photography, Paul has covered a number of major sporting events, including the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships and the Commonwealth Games as well as county cricket and Premiership football.
David Strachan (Graphic Designer)
David is currently Head of Creative at one of the UK's most successful sports web design agencies. He also designed the websites for Pinner Parish Church and the Pinner Music Festival. www.davestrachan.co.uk
