Lucy Pinching (First Soprano)
Lucy has sung in Pinner Parish Church Choir since the age of 6 and, along with Emily, has the joint responsibility of Head Chorister. In 2008 they both gained the RSCM Gold Award, becoming the first girls in the choir ever to do so. Lucy has a deep-rooted interest in music, stemming from her long-standing commitment to the choir. She is a member of various other chamber choirs and enjoys performing both as a soloist, and in a group. Lucy intends to continue singing and is keen to take it as far as possible. She is currently studying at North London Collegiate School, and wishes to study English or Music at university.
Emily Greenwood (Second Soprano)
Emily has been a member of Pinner Parish Church Choir for just under a decade, and currently holds the joint position of Head Chorister alongside Lucy. In late 2008, she achieved the RSCM Gold Award. Although being thoroughly committed to her vocal training, she maintains the flute as her main instrument, and, after a distinction-level pass of Trinity-Guildhall Grade Eight last year, she is now working towards a Diploma. Emily is currently studying Music and Music Technology, along with other subjects, at Nower Hill Sixth Form. Building on her musical background, Emily is hoping to study for a music degree, and follow her passion in a music-related career.
David Gould (Alto)
David was a choral scholar at St John’s College, Cambridge and from 1993 until 1998, he was a member of Westminster Cathedral choir. He is an experienced consort and choral singer currently performing with many leading choirs and ensembles, including the Cardinall's Musick, Hilliard Ensemble and the Tallis Scholars. As a soloist, he appears regularly with choral societies and other choirs. He also makes occasional appearances as a conductor and for 5 years, he conducted Stanmore Choral Society. In addition to his musical activities, he works part-time as a computer programmer. David lives in Pinner with his wife, Hilary and their two daughters, Celia and Anna.
Chris Ramsey (Tenor)
Chris began singing as a chorister at Pinner Parish Church at the age of 5. For the next 13 years he continued with the choir and also spent time singing with Harrow Philharmonic Choir and The Anselm Singers. He is currently in his final year of study at The Queen's College, Oxford where he reads music and sings with the Chapel choir, appearing with them as a soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Monteverdi’s “Vespro della Beata Virgine” and Purcell’s “Jehovah quam multi sunt hostes mei” amongst others. He has also appeared in Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” and Blow’s “Venus and Adonis” at Oxford and is active as a composer.
Howard Lush (Bass)
Howard is a long-standing member of Pinner Parish Church and is very involved in the work with young people within the parish and assisting the church with technological matters. He joined the choir at the age of 7 and has attended almost every service since, with the exception of the four years he spent studying Computer Science at the University of Bristol. He has particularly enjoyed having the opportunity to sing in more than ten cathedrals on the biannual choir holidays. As a treble he was head chorister and achieved the St Nicolas (now known as the RSCM Gold) award. More recently he has been involved with a number of amateur operatic societies and played principal roles in “Kiss Me Kate” and “Scrooge - The Musical”.
